Professor Brian Martin is an Instructor and the Program Coordinator at Pierce College for the Digital Design degree and also the Executive Producer of PierceTV (when it exists.) In addition to teaching at Pierce, Brian also runs a video production and animation company, Volume 11 Productions, producing local commercials such as this one for The City of Lakewood. Brian has been a teacher since 1982. He began his teaching career at Spanaway Lake High School, covering a wide variety of subjects including Yearbook, Geometry, and Video Production. In 1998, Brian made the transition to Pierce College. He earned his professorship in 2009 when awarded some awards he has somewhere in his office. One came with cash that he spent rather quickly. Since 1992, he has also worked part time in local and national television, most notably (if you can call it notable,) being the editor of the Spud Goodman Show for its syndicated run of 56 episodes on the Fox Network. He has also co-directed and edited several film shorts, including The Tacoma Diaries and No Big Deal, and a movie, :16. Brian spends his spare time playing in his band (Accidental Heroes,) playing video games, working in the yard with his wife, collecting rare music, wondering if he'll every work on his Volkswagen Convertible again, performing the annual upgrade on his computer, golfing, garage sailing (also with his wife) and reading. He will be retiring at the end of summer quarter 2018 as it's time for him to do something else. Brian Martin |
